Episode 5

Louis

Venetta’s brows came together in a frown, I could hear the beating of her heart and I knowing Ven, she has never been a push over.

“Look, broccoli—“ she took a step closer to Leah but i dragged her back by her arm.

I turned to Leah and walked towards her, anger evident in my voice. “I warned you about coming to my room without being summoned before, Leah, do you want to be punished first before you understand it?”

“Why do I need to take permission but she stays here and y’all get all touchy, I am still the Luna of this pack, I should get a bit of respect at least.” She screeched, her voice was in high pitch as she pointed her long nails towards her chest.

“Do I need to remind you that you slept with my cousin or do I need to remind you that I broke off our mating bond? Which one do you need to be remind of?” She blinked her eyes like she didn’t understand a word of what I just said. “Do not come into my room without being summoned next time Leah, or you might not like the consequences.”

“Unbelievable.” She muttered as she rolled her eyes and turned backwards to exit the door, I took in a deep breath before turning to Venetta who still had the shocked expression on her face.

“You said you were bonded to me, what did you mean?” Venetta’s eyebrow were raised curiously.

“I guess we’d never know.” I turned backwards and walked out of the room, I didn’t plan any of this, her being my second chance mate was not one of the plans I had, keeping her here because of my father wasn’t part of my plans either, she doesn’t seem to realize we are mated, either that or she’s very good at hiding it.

My wolf felt so unease that all it wanted to do was clash our lips together and mark her so every other male would know she was taken. When she spoke about her boyfriend, I had the urgent urge to tear him into pieces for laying a finger on her talk more of sleeping with her, I want to kill everyone that has ever had the opportunity to breathe the same air as her when I didn’t. I was going insane and only Venetta could calm my cravings, too bad, she hates me as much as I want her.

VENETTA

I paced around the room looking for network, there was none, our pack house was extraordinarily, supernatural even, I’d never be able to connect with my family in these walks, I would have to leave the pack house for my normal network to connect.

Would they think I have abandoned them?

God! I was so screwed.

I found out something about the sickness of Louis’s father but I didn’t tell him. The sickness wasn’t natural or ordinary, he was poisoned and it wasn’t a one time thing, he was being poisoned slowly, it’s been going on for up to a year now, if my calculations are correct.

There was someone in the pack house that was trying to kill the Alpha’s father, I should have told him but I held back, I needed something to hold on to, I needed a very important information to bargin for my freedom with.

Maybe that makes me a shitty person but i honestly don’t care, I just want to be far away from this place, as far away as possible.

Whoever was poisoning the alpha’s father was no ordinary person, the position would have been invisible to everyone else and only someone extraordinarily talented, the poison was in the water he used for bathing and not in his food or drinking water. I relaxed on the bed and exhaled, I was going to find a way to run away again, just like I did last time. I closed my eyes and let the sleep take over.

Voices from outside filled my ear and hearing, I opened my eyes slowly, it was already night, the voices sounded so far away and yet so near, I wasn’t supposed to hear that far, unless my wolf bane was clearing, it was going to clear completely in one week if I don’t take more.

“Shhhh, you’d wake her…” The first voice that sounded like a male voice whispered as the voices got closer to the room I was in

We’re they referring to me?

“We were asked to make this smooth and without any sound, so we have to get her when she’s asleep or it would be for nothing and we’d alert everyone, the boss wouldn’t want that now, would he?” A moment of silence before the odd voice spoke again. “We go in, we slit her throat, he come out, we were told she’s on wolf bane so she wouldn’t hear a thing.”

Oh goddess! They were referring to me, they were coming for me.

I instantly paused when I heard a female voice that sounded familiar, “Leave the throat cutting part to me.” It sounded like…

They were getting close, too close, i instantly remembered the small hideout Louis and I used whenever we wanted to hide from meetings when we were kids, I was under ground, I rushed towards it and instantly knocked on the ground slowly, it was there, I pulled it opened and snuck inside as I wrapped my hand over my mouth.

The door creaked open and footsteps filled the place, I couldn’t see anything from where I was but I could hear them, they were, two, three.

Was I going to die today? I’d never get to see my kids again, whoever sent them knew me, and not only from this pack, they knew my life outside the pack, no one knew a me taking wolf bane, I have been stalked and I didn’t even realize.

“Where did she go? The boss was certain she’d be here.” The male voice sounded frustrated.

“Do you think she heard us coming?” The female voice that was still familiar stated and deep breaths of anger filled the room.

“She’s not here, let’s go.” The third guy said as the footsteps began fading.

“Wait, I know where she is, she is here.” The female voice said instantly and my heart sank in my chest.
