The crisp breeze of the night hitting my body barely did its trick to stop my mind from repeating his words inside my head. It was all I could think about making the memories from that day come to the surface. I tried so hard, so fucking hard to get rid of all that guilt that I keep carrying over my shoulders, but I couldn’t. No matter how much I tried to convince myself that it wasn’t me, it was still my body.

No one knows what really happened that night besides four people, and two of them were dead; my parents.

Hundreds of people died, 4289 to be exact. Their souls still wrapped around my neck like a tight chain. Every time I think about it, every time someone talks about the innocent lives that died in Benhty, my chest grows tighter to the point where I can barely let out a simple breath.
