The Fall moon ball(1)

Madeline did not stray farther into the market but instead went back to the workshop, the silk was all she needed.

She already had an idea of what to do with the silk, she placed all the material on the table and began sewing.

Byron watched Madeline silently he prayed in his heart that they had forgotten about Madeline and by they he meant the four cardinal points.

Four hours later Madeline placed her finish product in the mannequin in her room, the dress reeked of perfection.

She outdone herself, Madeline stretched she was dead tired, she didn't even take a bath and just laid on the bed tiredly.

Three moons later it was officially The fall moon ball, the whole of Rutherford was bustling everyone were on their toes trying to look their best, the workshop was practically empty as people had gathered early in the morning just to buy clothes.

Byron stretched as Madeline bade goodbye to the last customer.

" you should go get ready....it's almost time for the ball."

Byron advised to stay undercover he never attended any balls or galas, people hadn't seen him for hundred years residing quietly in Thornbury.

Madeline wiped the sweat from her forehead as she arranged the loose locks from her hair.

"I don't feel too good leaving you all alone all night...."

Madeline said people been disappearing in Thornbury lately she didn't want her father to be next, at times she forget her father was a elf.

"Go have fun...your father is a strong man...I'm sure I can last a few hours."

Byron laughed Madeline was a complete carbon copy of Reyna,  thoughtful and generous.

Madeline nodded and went to the hours, she practically spent five minutes dressing up, Madeline hated corset to she made it in built, so she didn't have to spent all those time wearing it.

Madeline put on a cherry pink lipstick and a rose scented perfume.

She looked like an angel literally, she was really the beauty of Rutherford.

"Wow look at my daughter...your mother knew what she said when she said you would be beautiful."

Byron smiled his daughter was so beautiful that he was afraid.

"Father......."

Madeline smiled she looked stunning in her red gown.

"Madeline.....you're a gift to this world never forget that..."

Byron smiled as he paused he gave Madeline a big hug....who knew Madeline would never see her father after that day.

Madeline looked at her father confused but she didn't say anything and got into the carriage, bidding him goodbyes.

A silhouette came out of the shadows the moment Madeline left the house.

" it's time to go Ruler....we have been waiting for a hundred years.."

Byron face turned coldly as he stared at the moon elf.....who was a few rank lower than him.

"Kenai what happened since I left..."

Byron asked as they disappeared into the air .

Madeline looked at the house from the carriage feeling conflicted, Su felt there was someone in the shadows."

Madeline bit her lips she had never felt so powerless right now, she need to be strong if she wanted to protect her father.

Madeline fell asleep during the ride to the castle, she had a vision she saw her father and another man undoubtedly handsome,  standing in a pool of blood.

"To kill you!!!!....."

Madeline woke up sweating dripping from her forehead, she patted her palpitating heart gently. She didn't like that vision at all.

She didn't feel like dance when she arrived at the ball all she wanted to do was to see her father.

"Miss Rothschild....welcome...."

Callous couldn't believe that King Damien sent him here just to welcome Madeline.

"Oh mister callous...lovely evening it is.."

Madeline followed callous right to Damien.

Damien smiled when he was Madeline, she was extremely beautiful who wouldn't notice.

"Your highness.."

Madeline bowed when she got near Damien.

"Maddie you're here....I was waiting..."

Damien smiled lethargically, he was extremely laid back.

"Your highness I have brought Miss Rothschild, so I shall attend to other needs.."

Damien nodded as he waved callous off.

"Let's talk as we dance..."

Damien held Madeline's hands under the envious gaze of the women of all the ballroom.

Madeline blushed she wasn't used to crowds, she lowered her head staring at her feet.

"I'm very handsome today...why are you staring at your feet..."

Damien pouted as he raised her head, stroking her chin softly.

"I don't do well with crowds..."

Madeline said quietly she didnt go to parties often.

Damien chuckled as he held her waist firmly, his silver eyes staring deep into her soul.

The maestro began playing the piano filling the room with sweet melodies.

"Do you know the waltz.."

Damien asked as he swayed with Madeline, free-styling with her.

Madeline nodded slightly as she followed his movement, she read about it in a book.

" I read it once in a book.. a bit difficult.."

Madeline answered as she followed Damien's lead, she wasn't used to dancing like this.

"Hmm just follow my lead..."

Damien turned his feet slightly, smiling devilishly, making Madeline shudder.

He quickened his pace making it hard for Madeline to keep up, her dress was too big making her steps clumsy, stepping on Damien.

Damien noticed her discomfort and changed his stance making it easier for her to keep up, his hands on Madeline's wrist tightened as he gave her a Cheshire smile.

Madeline was loss in the music as she followed Damien's lead, smiling brighter and brighter, she was like it was the happiest day of her life.

The music stopped but Madeline could still hear the music in her heart.

Damien dropped her hand earning a frown from Madeline, he wrapped his arms around Madeline, his silver eyes glowing with mischief as he whispered into her eyes, "I'll see you soon my sweet Maddie..."

Damien disappeared after wards, leaving Madeline alone in the ballroom.
