Chapter 45 - Crime equals punishment
I followed Lucian into some sort of conference room. He was seething with anger, and I grabbed his arm and rubbed it to keep him in check.
"Stay calm, love," I said in his mind."Alright, shoot off." Lucian folded his massive arms and commanded his betas to report. "As per your command, we had been scanning all the CCTV footage and the area around the burned down cabin. We didn't find any clue until we came upon a blurry image." Damon darkened the room and started the projector, few images appeared on the white screen. It was too blurry because of the darkness. But there was one image that seemed to have a bit of red among the thick foliage. On a first look, one would dismiss it as a flower or some bird. Damon zoomed in and there it was the image of a human, I mean not exactly human, but a shape-shifter in a human form. He or she was covered in a red hoodie. Nothing else was visible.Lucian clenched his fist and growled."Is that all?"

I stepped into the cosy pretty house, with Lucian. I had chosen to wear a nice front buttoned dress rather than my usual sweatpants today. The rogues climbed the hill toward me. I held my ground and growled my disapproval at them. Higher ground was better in a fight, so I stayed and watched them. I remembered seeing them at the cabin; that memory filled me with anger.They were taken surprised by my presence because they did not plan their attack. Neither did they attack together. I toyed with them for some time, circling. Then I struck at one of them swiftly. A quick series of swipes from deadly claws ripped the slowest one's head from his body. Bullets don't work on werewolves unless they were silver. Such bullets were expensive and hard to obtain.
