Laila was about to squirt the acid on Romana's face when Vincent barred himself from the lady.

Laila was dumbfounded.

"Stop it, Laila! Splash that on me if you want! After all, I'm the root of all this!"

"W-Why Vincent? W-Why are you doing this?" she asked with shivering lips.

She couldn't accept that Vincent will use his body to keep his girl safe.

Vincent hid Romana behind him to defend her from whatever frenzy his wife was scheming to do.

"It's tough for me to explain all my excuses to you, Laila. But there's only one reason why I left you, I don't love you anymore."

Laila tightly held the small bottle in her hand. The two parts of her mind were debating whether she should throw what she was holding to Vincent or just give up.

"If destroying my face can make you feel better, go ahead! Do it! But before that, I hope you remembered the sacrifices I made for you! I endured everything before I gave you up, Laila! I chose you against Romana without knowing you had sex with another man!"
