Working life

It isn't easy to convince Steven Hudson, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper, to let me go, since I didn't have time to write a weekly column. I need to focus on my career to be a complete professional. Though I appreciate when he mentions how he doesn’t want to let me go because he likes my work. He is honest with me, saying that if I write in the newspaper, he will be willing to pay the same amount of money because I am the one who signs the fashion page. I make it clear that at no point will he or the newspaper be piggybacking off my relationship with a famous footballer.

He assures me again that it is my sheer hard work and determination that has led to this retention request and not my personal equations. I like his complete sincerity, so we agree: I will only write a monthly column so I can still have enough time to gain more experience and earn the same stipend.
