“To make sure that you return, I think I should have one of you stay here with me.” Dimitri stopped us from leaving, by signaling a group of vampires to surround us.

Grinding my teeth, I kept myself from saying what I really wanted to say to him. Did he think for one second, I was just going to hand someone over when he already had the one thing that I was willing to return for? They might not be my pack any longer, but I had already agreed to return to the pack.

Not only that, but this was Stryker’s pack, which meant that if something happened to everyone, it could potentially kill him. That wasn’t something I was willing to chance. Letting one of the hybrids stay back though, was overstepping a line when we were the werewolves’ best chance of getting them out of this situation.
