Chapter fifty nine

Alexander sat in his office, deep in thought. He had sent Aiden to watch Isabelle, because he suspected something was off about her behavior.

Aiden entered the room, a look of confusion on his face. "I watched her like you asked, but I didn't see anything out of the ordinary," he said, his voice laced with uncertainty.

Alexander's brow furrowed. He had been certain that Isabelle was up to something, but if Aiden hadn't seen anything, then maybe he was wrong. "Are you sure?" Alexander asked, a hint of frustration creeping into his voice.

Aiden nodded, looking unsure of himself. "I'm positive. She just went about her day as usual."

Alexander let out a sigh, leaning back in his chair. He had been hoping to get some answers from Aiden's surveillance, but it seemed like Isabelle was more cunning than he had thought. He ran a hand through his hair, trying to think of his next move.
