Chapter seventy one

Claire took a deep breath before knocking on Alexander's office door.

"Come in," Alexander called out, his voice muffled by the door.

Claire pushed open the door and stepped inside. The room was dimly lit, with only a few dim lights flickering on the desk. Alexander was hunched over his computer, typing furiously.

"Hey," she said softly, walking towards him.

He looked up, a smile spreading across his face. "Claire, hey! What brings you here?"

"I just wanted to see you," she said, smiling back.

Alexander got up from his chair and walked over to her. He wrapped his arms around her, pulling her close. She buried her face in his chest, breathing in his familiar scent.
