The next morning, I received word that Alpha Jo was recovering. He sent a message, asking to see me. I was wary, but I knew I had to face him.
I entered his quarters, finding him sitting up in bed, his face pale but determined. He looked at me with a mixture of regret and resolve.
"Ava," he began, his voice strained. "I need to apologize. I let my anger get the best of me. I should have listened to you."
I nodded, my own anger softening slightly. "Jo, we need to work together. Maria is the real threat here. She's been manipulating everyone, including you."
“It’s okay, Ava, I only called to apologize to you because I think you deserve it,” he said.
