Chapter 66: Lyla Swan
With hands shaking and her breathing labored, Lyla Swan struggled to dial Kate's number.
"Hello?" She heard Kate's voice on the other line. "Lyla? It's been a while? Why are you calling at this hour? How are you?"
Lyla's lips were trembling and her heart felt like it had been crushed to a million pieces. A tear fell down her cheek as she asked, "Why - Kate, why?"
"What do you mean, Lyla?" Kate answered the phone. "What's wrong? Are you crying?"
"I'm in Vegas... and I just met Kyle with a woman," Lyla admitted, sniffing her tears away.
Lyla had been sulking for the past hour, merely clutching her legs against her chest, sitting on a sofa from inside her hotel room. She inquired, "Who was that girl he was with?"
"I stayed away! I tried to forget because I never had a chance, but why?! Why didn't you even tell me! Why?!" She screamed and at that point, Lyla broke down in tears.
