Chapter 4. The Lamborghini
Clementine Hunter just returned from the firm, back home. Exhausted, famished and slightly irritated. She sighed as she tossed her hand bag to the cushion. Sinking into it's comforting embrace afterwards. After a few minutes, she stood up, restless, and uncomfortable. She walked upstairs to her room, switching the light on as she walked in.
Her eyes were first attracted to the mirror on her left. She stared blankly at it, as she turned slowly side ways, admiring her curves.
With both hands, she shook her hair, and peered at them intensely. A strand of hair in her head had turned grey."Hmmm" she sighed.
Pulling it out instantly. She was too young to begin sprouting grey hairs already, she thought.
Still staring at the mirror, Clementine reflected on the happenings around the firm that day."His hot anyway" her thoughts voiced out from her mouth.Clementine bite her lip as she kept thinking of the new legal business partner her dad was about to make. And why her dad found him interesting enough for her to even admire at first sight. For him to even invite him to their home. Their sanctuary!
And this guy nmust have alot of nerves, kissing a girl he barely met.A single knock came on the door. Clementine panicked a little, she wasn't going to take the same joke from this hot partner twice. She had a repute to safeguard, pride to protect.
It was Matthew, her dad. "Hey sweetie" he kissed her on her cheek. She smiled, seeing a package behind her dad's hands. He helped himself to the bed and she followed him. "what's that Dad?""Why don't you guess what it is?"
"An earing?" Clementine raised her eye brows. Mr. Matthew laughed. "No, try again, one last time ""Hmmm" she took a deep breath." Is it_" "Shhhhhhhhhh" he interrupted. "Close your eyes too."Clementine liked the direction this was going, she knew her dad wasn't always dramatic, and when he was, it was mostly for something worth it. "Come on dad" she blushed and smiled. Matthew passed her a box, wrapped in red."It's a necklace!" She screamed. Mr. Matthew was a billionaire. If he got his favorite daughter a necklace, it wasn't going to be just any necklace, it could very well be a diamond necklace as well.
Millions of thoughts ran through Clementine's head. She loved gifts, and gifts from her dad, was priceless. "Are you going to go ahead and open it or are you gonna keep smiling like a woman who's just got herself a fiance?" Clementine hissed. She looked away from the gift and her dad with a frown on her face."Come on am kidding"
She smiled back, impatiently ripping the box open. The look on her face suggested she was wowed. 'What's it gonna be, what's it gonna be… 'She muttered. Matthew sat quietly and smiled inwardly. "Oh my goodness! God, fuck! It dad… Damn, your the best. Awwwwwnnnnnnn" Clementine hugged and kissed her dad. She embraced him so tight and firmly. Mr. Matthew just smiled and rubbed her affectionately in the back. It was a brand new key. A key to a new Lamborghini."Wow" she said, with joy filled in her eyes and heart.
"Glad you love it. "
"You kidding it's a Lamborghini dad! Who wouldn't love it!" She said embracing him tightly and planting kisses on his cheek, head and face.He smiled.
Mrs Elizabeth walked inside, the room. She saw the keys on Clementine's hands and she congratulated her as well.
"Thanks alot Liz. You mean more than family to me. "Elizabeth was the chief butler for the Hunter's, for more than a decade. Elizabeth is an orphan. She is fifty eight years old, though she looked fifty three or fifty four. She has curly black hair and a neat appearance. She is black and very obedient.
According to Mr. Matthew, Mrs. Elizabeth has been working for him, before he even got married. As a result, she was given maximum respect by all workers, staffs, visitors and inhabitants of Mr. Matthew's mansion. After congratulating and sharing in her joy, Liz walked away calmly. Dad your the best. She say one last time."Oh that's enough love. Go take her for a spin. I bet Violet would loose her mind if you invited her to go on the ride with you. Clementine dashed out of the room, she raced down the staircase and came running outside.
The car was covered in overalls and neatly parked in their drive way.
Clementine was filled with awe. She raised her hands up, wore a baby puppy expression and opened her mouth wide occasionally to express surprise and gratitude.
She hit a button with the key and the doors of the car opened vertical, towards the sky.
"Mad!" She yelled. Reaching back inside hurriedly, to grab her iphone.
Clementine dialed Violet, but she wasn't reachable. Another trial and her phone was switched up.
"Seems you'd have to go for that spin yourself."
Mr. Matthew suggested. The Lamborghini wasn't just the regular knew people drove, this one was. Customized to suite all the habitual practices Clementine embraced.
It said 'welcome miss Clementine' Everytime she got inside.
It had a small box fitted to the car, that rose technically into eyes vision, when ever she said 'make up now'.
"Don't wanna take it for a spin alone dad, could you please join me?"
"I've got clients coming over to see me. A very serious litigation is in my hands right now.
"Awww" she nodded, disappointedly.
"Babe!" A voice yelled
"Huh?" Clementine turned to the other side of the car. She lowered the glass, so she could see properly. It was Violet, whom she had just unsuccessfully tried to reach, some five minutes ago."Baby you rock in there.""Awwwwn I know right"
" Hop in, come on."Violet hopped inside the car. The doors shut automatically by themselves, aptly sensing the presence of another passenger.
"Shall we?" Asked Clementine."Are you kidding me? Let's go crashing!" Violet say excitedly.
" Zoooooooommmmmmmmm….. Ummmmmmmmhhhhh…. Bommmm….mmmm"
The car zoomed away.
Mr Matthew stayed back, nodding his head with a smile and saying a word of prayer for them.
"I kept calling but non of my calls would go through" Clementine kept a puppy face as they drove away.
"I was on a date, and my date said I had to switch my phone off. My dear, am sorry"
"A date?" Clementine scowled.
