Chapter 29

Derek pov

She must of snuck in because I hear her bedroom door click shut and the lock engage. I knock but she ignores it and as I listen in I hear crying. Soft sobs that she tries to cover up with the shower running.

"Mia, I knock lightly so I don't wake the kids, Mia please open the door",I feel the need to apologize but I don't know why. I get nothing so I head to bed frustrated.

The next morning she is gone and so are the pups. I'm alone in the house and I'm miserable.

I've mind linked Jon but he doesn't answer me and I know he has to be busy with the three pups Jennifer had. I can't believe he is with her.

An hour later Mia comes in and feeds the twins while I stand there awkwardly watching. She doesn't say a word as she changes them and puts them down for naps. I watch her make food and not say anything to me. She has the art of ignoring me down perfect.
