I feel so embarrassed, I'd enter the ground if it opens up for me. May was Sinclair's nanny when he was little; and she was the first one to discover what he was.

Jimmy and Emily are one of the many children in the orphanage owned by Sinclair, and I feel like shit when the woman puts me on a video call and calls them over to talk to me. And Sinclair.

They call him Father only out of respect, and not because the scores of heads that I see on the screen, waving at the camera, are all the children he's had with all his lovers.

Fuck, I feel so stupid.

May tells me she wishes to meet me in person before she bids us goodbye. Sinclair puts his phone in his pocket and stands, dusting off popcorn from his jacket. "Let's go home."

"The movie--"

"I have no interest in it. Never did," he exhales, walking past me. "I wanted to do this with you, and since you have no interest in it either, there's no use wasting our time here."
