Isadora's POV:

As we helped Matamoros into the vehicle, Casandra took the wheel for a long, silent drive filled with only the moans of Matamoros's pain. Eventually, we arrived at the witch's hut.

The moment the witch set eyes on me, the crystal ball she held slipped from her hands and shattered to pieces. She yelled, "The Blessed Wolf!"

Amidst the shattered crystal ball, I looked at the witch in confusion. "Blessed wolf? What are you talking about?"

The witch seemed ecstatic, "You, my dear, are a rare one—a special wolf who has found favor in the eyes of the moon goddess. A wolf with more chances than any other. You're about to encounter your third chance mate, and he's going to bring the balance you never thought you needed."

I scoffed, disbelieving. "No thanks, I'm not interested. The last time I checked, I've been cursed with bad luck in love. And my last mate still hasn't accepted the rejection."
