Armstrong gasped when Mabel opened her eyes. He thought she would be upset that his face was so close to hers while she was sleeping. If she accused him of trying to take advantage of her, it would cause a strain on their friendship because she would not want to have anything to do with him. However, Mabel just stared at him without a reaction.

In the end, Armstrong turned his face away and coughed before saying, "I was just trying to adjust your head so you don't break your neck."

Seeing that Mabel was still staring at him, he continued, "When I came out of the bathroom, you were already asleep so I brought you in here to make you more comfortable. This is one of my guest rooms."

People can change. If they truly want to change for the better, not for selfish reasons. Even the most cruel person can redeem themselves if they are truly remorseful and want to repent. Everyone deserves a second a chance, but how they handle that second chance is on them.
