JAYDEN’S P.O.V. “Princess,” the woman on the camera fell to the floor and cried. “Please forgive us princess, we had no idea…” and she cried. “I am fine,” I nodded. “Even if you forgive us princess,” the man spoke glumly, “I will not forgive us. It was our blood who almost killed you. And – and – and – we …” and he trailled off. “Everyone is here to know what has really happened?” mom intervened. “Can you tell us all?” The man nodded. “I am Abraham Gonzales, Maia’s father…” he started. “We are not banished, as many of you are speculating, the alpha had been very kind to us. He has not punished us, though he should have killed us…” Everyone looked at one another. “We chose to leave our home as our penance,” Abraham Gonzales sighed. “Maia, our daughter, was delusional. She believed that Nash, the new alpha male in our home, is in love with her, which he wasn’t,” Abraham Gonzales continued. “She – she got very jealous when the alpha male was kidnapped with princess. Sh
JAYDEN’S P.O.V. One month later. “Are you sure you have to go,” mom asked for the umpteenth time as I packed. “I have to, mom,” I sighed. She looked so sad that I had no strength to argue with her. And of course, she was sad and worried… I have never set foot out of our clan without my parents and a hoard of security. But today, well, technically, tomorrow morning, we – as in Nash and I – are flying off to India. The thought in itself sent severe jitters down my spine. All that I have heard of India, and his family, a part of me did not wish to even to go there. A part of me wanted to beg him to stay here, with me, forever. But he was the heir of Shakti clan. And being the first in line, i.e. first born, and the only alpha male of the alpha family in Indian subcontinent, he had to go… sigh! “You will stay in constant touch with me, won’t you?” mom continued. And I tried so hard, so damn hard to not roll my eyes at her. We had this conversation a hundred times as well.
JAYDEN’S P.O.V. “So, you will be in constant touch?” mom asked again as I was too lost in my own thoughts. “Mom!” I replied, coming back to my senses and the present. “Mom, I told you, even dad told you, mind link does not work that far away…” “But –” she started again. I sat beside her and hugged her from her side and placed my head on her shoulder, “My dearest mom, oh, my loving, adorable, caring, innocent mom!” I sighed. “Innocent?” mom laughed. “You are… you have no idea that despite being thirty-two or whatever now, you are the most innocent person in this clan!” I replied. Mom laughed again. “I am the alpha queen, you know!” she smiled. “And that’s why we have such an amazing place, you have spread your innocence in the world, which kind of counters darkness that dad brings,” I spoke thoughtfully. “Darkness?” mom asked quizzically. “Oh, come on, mom! We all know about dad and his businesses… and let his businesses slide, we all have seen dad’s raging side. I
JAYDEN’S P.O.V. The farewells are never easy, and the same was the case with me. Mom and dad have deliberately not informed the entire clan that I was moving to India, permanently, or as permanently my family would allow me to. I know I would have to travel to and fro quite a lot. I mean, if mom – who had never seen Whitakers until she turned sixteen – had to travel to Romania to meet them every two-three months, then well, I would be glad if I don’t see my family every two weeks. Well, I am not glad that I would not see my family, I mean they are the best, but hey, India is almost fourteen hours away, and even with our high powered La Gualias jet, it is at least twelve hours away, it would be very tiresome! “You will come back and say goodbye to everyone as soon as you are sure you want to live there,” Mom stressed as we gathered in the foyer and so many men loaded my luggage in the car. Nash was shocked with the sheer number of bags I had. ‘For a girl who wears only training b
NASH’S P.O.V. One month ago! “Alpha,” I knocked and entered. Alpha Dimitri was sitting in his chair, working intently on his laptop. No, actually, he was frowning at his laptop! “Ah, Nash, come in, my boy,” Alpha Dimitri smiled as he looked at me. I nodded and entered. “Please have a seat,” he pointed opposite him. “How are you, Alpha?” I asked seriously. Because what I wanted to ask of him needed him to be in good mood. And he rarely was in a good mood. “My daughter is back and healthy, I have a new son, I am wonderful,” he spoke jovially. And I grimaced. “But you don’t look or sound wonderful, what happened?” he demanded, his perceptive gaze never missing a thing. “Dad!” I started. And Alpha sighed. “You father called me this morning, yes. I had sent out notice to him last night that Jayden was released from hospital and we have announced about your union to our entire clan,” Alpha started. “That’s how he knew,” I cursed softly. “He is –” I started. “Asking
NASH’S P.O.V. I slumped back in my seat and stared at the Alpha. He was sitting in the same position but some how that sexiness had disappeared now and all I could see was alpha power rolling off him. And I swallowed. Damn it! Why was I even here without princess? She knows how to tackle her father but me… well… I contemplated calling princess here through mind link, yes, I am a coward in this sense, but the alpha started to speak, so I did not. “Nash, today, tomorrow, one month, one year, one day my daughter will leave her home and go with you to your country,” he started. And I nodded. One year! I thought perplexed but I didn’t comment. “You have known Jayden now, and you must have noticed she is different,” he continued, and I nodded again. “I, her mother and I, we have raised Jayden differently. She is a free-spirited girl who loves her freedom. If sky is the limit then for Jayden, everything is limitless. She has never been an over demanding child. She has grown up knowing
JAYDEN’S P.O.V.Present day!I bid farewell to Jared and Taron uncle and boarded our plane. As it started to take off, Nash took my purse and gave it to the airhostess for safe keeping. “Oh, my phone,” I spoke and pulled it out. “I have promised mom to text her every three hours,” I smiled. A jingling clinking sound of bottles from my purse echoed in otherwise silent plane and Nash raised his eyes at me. “Every three hours?” Nash asked. “Yep!” I nodded happily as airhostess brought drinks for us. “And what if we are busy?” he asked naughtily. “Then we will take a break!” I replied, laughing. The plane took off and I bid farewell to my family through mind link. I could tell they were incredibly sad, but they didn’t show it to me now. I know they did not wish to upset me any more. “I love you,” he spoke as he kissed my cheek. I knew he could see sadness on my face. “I love you too,” I sighed. “Nothing else could have made me leave my family, you know!” And he grinned
JAYDEN’S P.O.V. We landed in the cover of dark, and I could barely see anything around. “Welcome home, my princess,” Nash grinned as he grabbed my hand and we stepped out of the airplane together. The first I noticed was how hot it was here. Being raised on the ocean shores, I have learnt to live in humid environment, but this was way too hot and humid. “You will get used to it,” he grinned as he saw me wipe my forehead for sweat. A convoy of six cars was waiting for us. And the moment we stepped out of the plane, people of all six cars stepped out, and out came running Devi, Nash’s sister. “You are here,” Devi screamed as she hugged, not Nash, but me…! I was taken aback for a moment but then I hugged her back. “You won’t believe for how long I have been waiting for you to come home.” She exclaimed excitedly. “Seriously?” I asked, confused. Someone cleared throat and I saw Nash’s mom standing just behind Devi. “Mom, let me present to you your future daughter-in-law,”
