I had stripped Andrew’s house of all the contents and had given the lair members free access to whatever they wanted to take. The only furniture kept were the filing cabinets with all the lair and business records in them. The deliveries had started arriving from seven am and I had woken up early with Megan half on top of me and me holding her tightly with both arms. I never showed up for dinner that Sunday, Shelley had sent me a text at four pm and I’d met her outside at four thirty. I answered my father’s fifth phone call at nine pm when Shelley had finally left, leaving scratch marks on my back and my legs a little weak.My bed, the sofa and the sideboard in my room had truly been broken in after her visit. “Come in,” I said at the knock on my office door. It’s been two weeks after the general meeting and things haven’t yet calmed down.
