Chapter 27

Carlos thought if he would stop eating maybe she would relish the breakfast. Her face looked tired and drained; he would bet she did not eat anything last night. After all, she was his wife and he can read her features like an open book even when her lips are zipped. But before he could arrive at a solution, Sapphire rose from the bed. 

"I am not feeling hungry and I need to go." She spoke blandly. 

"But mamma today is Sunday, a holiday for you and daddy." Akira's words stopped her on tracks which relieved Carlos but his happiness was short-lived. 

Sapphire came out with a genuine smile. "I am busy, Princess." She kissed Akira's cheek and walked away without sparing a glance to Carlos.
