Ian drank the water and looked at Charlotte surprised. He saw wetness in her eyes that she was trying to conceal blinking repeatedly. Gradually he was able to see the side of Charlotte that she hides under the charade of a brave heartless and insensitive woman. Something broke in him seeing her tears about which he has no idea.

He wanted to console her, she is a fighter and she fought her battles well. She wasn't selling herself to him in the name of a contract. He will not touch her, never against her will. Not that she is unattractive but he values her feelings. In his twenty six years of life he saw women falling for him and freely offering themselves but Charlotte was an exception. The more she stayed away, the greater was the pull inside him to chase her.
