Ana gazed out the window, trying to breathe in the fresh air, while I suffocated in her scent. Something that hadn't happened in a long time rose like a blazing fire inside me, burning me from within. I wanted to pounce on her and mark her again; my wolf howled, assuring me that she was his. We arrived at the pack house, and I could hear many voices in the distance.

"I can't, Alpha," I said, my voice trembling. Andrews looked at me, and that gaze heated my core even more.

"Get out of the car and tell them they need to wait for a moment," he ordered.

The driver didn't understand my request, but he didn't question it further. He got out of the car and conveyed my message to my beta; he would handle the situation.
