Chapter 63

Elinor felt herself being lifted off her seat as Azeph circled his arms around her and jumped behind the seat right before the second shot was fired at them.

“Damn it! We’re trapped,” he gritted out.

“Are you okay?” Elinor asked as she reached for the gun in her dress and made sure it was loaded.

“Yeah, you?” He asked.

She bent down waiting for the second shot to be fired before standing up and aiming.

“I’m fine,” she answered as she made her shot listening to the scream of the shooter before they heard a loud thud as he fell from the tree.

“A perfect shot,” she declared into the cool air as she felt a chill running up and down her spine.

Azeph stood up and made his way toward the edge of the terrace.

“He’s still alive. He’s getting away,” he told her as he took his sword and jumped over the railing to go after him.

“Azeph! Wait!” She called out,

He has a gun! That man has a gun and Azeph only had his sword.
