Chapter 25 - Mother?

“I knew if I didn’t come to you, you would never come to me. So here I am, tell me what you want.” My mother says sitting on my sofa. She’s been sitting there for the past three hours. She just showed up at my door unannounced.  I had a client so she had to wait for me to finish with her hair first.

I thought she’d leave when she realized I was busy but no. she waited it out. She didn’t say a word until now. I know why she’s here and I’m already dreading the conversation. I stand at the front door unable to sit down.

I’ve been standing there since my client left. I don’t trust myself to relax when my mother is here.

“I don’t want anything from you.” I say and she looks at me shocked. But it’s true, she made sure that I never want or need anything from her. Instead she’s the one always demanding things from me. That’s why she’s here right?
