Chapter 16: The uninvited

Annie was sitting at the dining table. She kept thinking about the word “darling” that Dustin said last night.

Dustin used a sweet voice to talk to her, that’s unbelievable!

That was the first time he'd called her “darling” since they married.

But what did he mean? It was beyond her calculation as well as her logical thinking. Therefore, Annie could not guess the next step and she didn’t know what her husband was thinking either.

Then she decided to ask him directly…

Annie put down the chopsticks and asked the maid: "Did Dustin go to work?"

“Yes, Mister went to work early, before leaving, he told us to make lunch for you. If you want it right away, I'll get it."-said the maid.

Annie suddenly fell into contemplation for a while.

After that, she stood up and said: "Clear the table, and then sent my lunch to the company.”

The people quickly put away the things on the dining table.

Annie took her coat and drove away.
