It took the vampire hybrids longer than usual to arrive at Alpha White's territory because the beta werewolves couldn't run anywhere near the speed that they could.
When they arrived everywhere was quiet, it was an usual silence and Lucas could sense they were being watched from the shadows. He picked up their scent, they were those of friends and not foes. He knew they were werewolves scouts hiding in the cover of darkness, on the lookout for intruders.
