CHAPTER THIRTY THREE

"What are we going to do, what are we going to do?" wailed the leprechaun. "Escaping trolls to be caught by Lycans!" he exclaimed, and the phrase became a proverb, albeit we now say out of the frying pan and into the fire in similar situations.

"Up the trees, hurry!" exclaimed Legolas, and they dashed to the glade's edge, searching for trees with low branches or slender enough to swarm up. You can guess that they located them as quickly as they could and that they went as high as they could trust the branches. Legolas was perched on a tall larch, looking like a colossal Christmas tree. Charlotte felt more at ease in a massive pine with regular branches protruding at regular intervals like spokes of a wheel, a gigantic pine standing at the glade's very edge. They were almost concealed by the tree's wreaths, but the leprechaun's eyes gleamed in the red moon as he peered out. However, he slid out of Charlotte's shoulder by accident.

"Legolas!" the princess shouted making
