"_Don't even think about it. You are not fit and qualify for that duty yet you may leave," she said coldly.

"Yes ma'am," I replied and walked back to my position with a sad expression. I quietly waited for other maids to be through with their chores.

When everything was set, Dancia assembled all the maids in the kitchen and chose the maids to serve breakfast at the royal table. Even though she already refused me, I still waited to be chosen but to my disappointment, she chose Agnes instead of me.

I bite my inner cheek as I stood staring at the floor. Agnes who had noticed the look on my face walked up to me and stood beside me.

"What's bothering you? is it the engagement?" she asked me, I nodded and looked down.

"I know it’s hard but it is not in your power to do anything. You just have to accept what is about to happen," Agnes said to me, her voice barely a whisper.
