004

HIS brother is not thinking straight, that is what Louis is thinking. Hailey must have captured Edward's attention for him to act this way. In Louis's point of view, she might end up being a poison to him, and that he needs to get rid of her, but how? He does not even know how to persuade Edward and now he needs to think of something to get of Hailey.

"Make sure she does not get out," Louis looked at his brother with utter confusion. He badly wants to disagree with the way he takes care of things but he just can't bring himself to, in fact, that is the last thing he sees himself doing. Edward has been the one to call decisions, he rarely asks for advice on certain matters.

"Where are you going, Edward?" Edward looked at his brother, pursing his lips. He knows to himself he messed up, but of course, he would not admit it. He is not trying to impress old satan, he just wants the girl safe and Louis has been prying on what he does since Giovanni decided to kill himself. He knows Louis more than anyone, he practically raised him, he can tell everything that goes in and out of his mind. Edward's concern is that he may be too caught up with the Hailey incident and have been mixing all matters at hand in one small bowl.

"A meeting," Louis sighed. He knows that his brother would just drink his sorrows away, he did not even like Giovanni to begin with. Edward walked his way out of their home but before anything else, of course, he had already asked Louis to keep an eye on Hailey.

Hailey is still sound asleep in the guest room. She must love losing consciousness because she just did. Louis even watched his brother carrying Hailey and laying her down in the bed. It makes him sick and now, he has to take care of a hostage which is pretty unusual to what they do. They do not take care of hostages, they play with their lives, exactly the same thing that Hailey said. They kill for fun, satisfaction, desire, and most importantly, they kill for betrayal. he just wishes to understand what his brother is trying to do.

Louis sat down in the lounge drinking tea while looking at the blank canvas that he has always been fond of. Other people would think that this canvas is nothing but white, but for Rindou, it shows its true colors when alone and in the dark. It has hidden desires, flaws, and beauty, just like humans, just like pawns. He was about to take another sip from his tea when he heard footsteps coming his way. He had never wished to see Dominic walking around their house more than ever instead of the woman that Edward brought home with him, well technically kidnapped.

"Let me go," Those are Hailey's first words the moment she saw Louis in the lounge. It was as clear as the sky but Louis did not bother listening nor turning his attention to her.

"You're awake," Louis pursed his lips and took a sip of his tea. He has no means of communicating with Hailey, but it can't be helped considering that they are the only ones at home. He just does not have the energy.

"I said, let me go," Louis adjusts his position and looked at Hailey with his piercing purple eyes. Her audacity to tell him what to do is beyond imagination. He already knows that there is a drive-in in which people usually exert too much effort to survive but Hailey is just on another level. If this were survival of the fittest, she can be the winner.

"Not happening," Louis ticked his tongue inside his mouth then sighed uncontrollably. Hailey's forehead furrowed while looking at him. He looked at Hailey without blinking an eye then turned around, completely ignoring her. A little privacy would help between the two of them, it is quite the aura between the two of them that ticks Louis's desires.

"And believe me, I want you out of here more than you do," Quick thinking. After Louis had said those words, his mind flew somewhere else. He hates that he can be just as affected as his brother is. He took a quick glance from Hailey and sighed. And here he is, contemplating if should they remove the air-conditioning in their house.

Hailey scoffed after hearing Louis's words. Of course, it is already a given that she will not take the word of what a criminal says, and top it, the ones who abducted her. Hailey saw Louis's quick glance and was confused then realized how thin her clothes are. Her eyes widened as the blood from all her system went up in her face in a matter of seconds.

She did not realize that she was sweating so much that her body figure and even her undergarment is visible. She was aware that it was hot and did not bother with it because she was used to it, but after eyeing Edward's place once again, there are a total of 2 air-conditioning and that is just inside the lounge.

Hailey quickly covered herself with her arms and ran back to the room she slept in. Louis was just pretending to not notice but sighed out of relief once Hailey had gotten inside the guest room. He could have sworn that it was all his brother's doing. He knows that the guest room in which Hailey is staying has an air-conditioner, and his brother is not the type of forgetting to turn it on. He hates heat more than anything else.

"Damn it," Louis muttered and finished the sip he was supposed to drink slowly in one gulped. Now how can he focus on what matters the most after what he just saw? He felt like a dagger was just pierced through his heart, he can imagine his brother saying how much he liked his morning surprise.
