Chapter Eighty-Three: Bella's Haunting Past

Lunchtime.

Surprisingly, Dennis didn't talk to Bella about having lunch together. She was relieved at first, but it made her feel uneasy afterwards.

She realized that she must have said too much towards Dennis yesterday.

Bella decided to look for him. As she was walking her way at the school's hallway, she heard a group of girls gossiping.

"Hey, did you know the reason behind Bella Newman's adoption?" one girl suddenly said.

"Oh? What is it? Tell us!" asked the other one.

She gritted her teeth in anger and frustration. These girls are even worst than a bunch of gossiping housewives.

She strained her ears as she hid herself to the nearby wall. She decided to listen, as the girls talk more about her.

"You all know that my mom is working at our town's Social Services Department, right? She accidentally found out Bella's family background!" the main gossiper blabbered on.
