A Gift

I went back into my room and by this time my rib seemed fine, luckily. A thought occured me that I did not know if there had been any significant changes to how fast I healed since I lost my magic which often sped up the process.

I let my thoughts run over to Lance as I took a shower. It had been a few days since I saw or heard from him. Gray assured me that he is doing well.

To be frank, the boring routine of waking up, doing chores or training, sometimes both and eating got me feeling jaded. I longed for something more. I entertained the thought of slipping away for a few minutes but I would do that the next day. There was a continuous knocking on my door. Who the hell knocks like that?

I stormed my way to get the door.

"I swear Lucas if that's you-"

It was just Beam. I eased up and gave her a friendly smile.

"Get your ass over to the turrets, Hayley, Gray needs you there pronto!" Beam said.
