There was an incoming call from an unknown number and I stopped eating instantly to receive it.

“Hello, who is it?”

“Who do you think?” Gray’s voice boomed powerfully in my ear.

“Gray, how did you get my number?” I asked, feigning surprise.

“I just tried a random digit and it happened to be you! What are you doing?”

“I’m having breakfast,” I said and explained further, “Actually it was the dinner you brought me last night that I’m eating now.”

“Okay, hurry up and make sure you’re out with your pack mates in thirty minutes, everyone is going out for a nice walk as a pack, courtesy of your alpha that won’t be coming along of course!”

I looked out my window and gave a startling stare as if Gray was there to see it.

“But it’s still raining and there’s no guarantee that the rain will finish falling in thirty minutes.”
