Chapter 9

The children looked at the stranger skeptically, he looked their age but they've never seen him around before. "Hello? I said I'm Ansel" The boy said while waving his hands over their faces

"Where are you from? We've never seen you around before" Mamock asked the question that is on everyone's mind

"And how are you so sure you've never seen me before?" Ansel asked as he stepped closer to them, they all looked at each other and kept quiet "well, you are right. You've never seen me before and before you ask, it's because I'm a rare specie that chooses when he wants to show himself"

"Umm.. we would appreciate it if you are a little bit clearer" Amanda said and the boy looked her with a smile on his face before he replied

"Well, you can say I'm a God" he said in a cocky manner, a smirk gracing his face and they all burst into laughter

"Well he's funny, let's keep him" Rus said in between laughs and Ansel stared at them puzzled, he wasn't joking.

"Excuse me, but I'm not joking" he said and they were about to burst into laughter but the serious look on his face stopped them all

"Can you explain this more" Aiden asked softly

"Sure, let's sit down first" he said and they all sat down, shifting closer to each other in order to make space for him "well you see I'm a half fox and a half wolf, otherwise known as Alphavulpes. My specie is really rare because you rarely see a fox and a wolf mating, they both have an alpha cunning attitude and because of that we are rare and special" he started explaining and the children were looking at him with keen interest

"Admist other things like, speed, strength, agility and etc we've been blessed with the ability to grant a strong wish and that's basically placing us on a godlike level" he said proudly and the children glanced at each other.

"More like on a genie level" Amanda snorted and they all including Ansel laughed "that's really cool tho, but why haven't we've been seeing you or your specie around and how old are you?" Amanda asked letting her curiously surface

"Human greed" Ansel replied while looking straight ahead "at a particular point when we co-existed with humans they nearly wiped our entire race out, a few of us managed to survive and I knew a day like this will come again and that's why I'm here. I'm 18, 2 years older than all of you except Rus" he said and they all looked at him shocked

"Why then do you speak like you've been living here for over a thousand years and how do you know our age?" Ruri asked him

"Well I'm a pure blood, I was breed from a long line of royal blood Alphavulpes and because of that, I carry some of their memories with me and the massacre is a very strong memor that has been passed down for ages. As for you guys, we Alphavulpes can see the things happening here and I picked an interest in your group and that's why I know a lot about you guys" he answered Ruri's questions clearly

"You know we'd like to ask a lot of other questions but why are you here now? Now that another massacre is about to happen" Amanda asked and Ansel just sighed staring straight ahead

"To grant a wish but you can't wish I stop the massacre, I can't interfere with fate" he answered and turned to stare at her.

The group went silent for a while before Rus broke the silence "well that's okay, no need to worry about what we can't change. Everyone go home, our parents are probably growing grey hairs from worrying about us. We'll come back here tomorrow and have fun. Deal?" He asked while stretching his palm forward

"Deal!!" They all chorused and placed their palms on Rus's palm except Ansel. "Common put your palm Ansel" Rus said and Ansel's face broke into a big smile before he placed his palm on theirs. They all raised their hands together and shouted "deal" before they went their different ways

They all kept assembling in that particular spot telling each other stories and having as much fun as they can, trying their best to keep everything happening at the back of their mind till that fateful morning

Screams erupted everywhere, people immediately woke up from their sleep and rushed out to see what's happening. They came out only to meet slayed bodies after slayed bodies and soon the once peaceful realm was in chaos, everyone ran in different directions but there was no escaping now. Men were positioned at different areas, and everyone was left with two options. Become a slave or die

Amanda, Rus, Aiden, Mamock and Ruri all agreed to meet at their spot if anything happens but at the particular point everyone lost their sense of direction. Rus was tossed around with everyone trying to save their life, he ran around aimlessly till he was face to face with death. One of the men had him in a tight grip and asked him to make his choice, he was about to give up when he remembered their promise and his instincts kicked him. He fought back by shifting in between the man's grip making it hard for the man to hold on to him. He got kicked badly in the head but he managed to free himself and run away, with a concussion.

Mamock was quick enough to disguise herself as a tree and move around quietly. Blood splashed on her a lot of times, she was also slightly cut by the edge of the swords a lot of time bm but she managed to escape

Ruri had to compel her way out. She wasn't in her right sense of mind, she watched her entire family get slain and  she was close to death too; a lot of times, the sword has brushed against her neck, she got caught by the men but for some reason they kept letting her go. She wanted to give up  but the promise kept ringing at the back of her mind and she fought with every single thing she could and wiggled her way to the spot

Amanda had it worse, no one spared her a glance because she's human but that's what made it painful. She couldn't do anything to help, she just watched as person after person was slayed. She wanted to move but her legs couldn't carry her anymore and she collapsed onto the floor, she watched dead bodies fall down beside her and blood splashed all over her body. She had it worse because she watched  her friends's family get slaughtered before her and their blood splashed all over her body.

She immediately recoiled on the floor and started letting out sobs when she felt someone come close to her she looked up and it was Ansel, the first word that came out of her mouth was "help" she sobbed out and mouthed help again. When she felt like Ansel wasn't doing, she gripped her hair in her hand in a very painful manner "why won't you help!?!" She wailed as she gripped her hair, staring at him with red eyes from crying too much

Ansel looked at the girl in front of him; her dress is soaked in blood, her hair is all over the place and her body is shaking violently, he walked up to her and carried her in his arms and walked to the spot

After everyone assembled and gained a little consciousness, Ruri looked at all of them for a while before she asked "where's Aiden?". The moment she asked everyone started looking around for him except Ansel that had sadness written all over his face

"Where on Earth is Aiden" Rus asked while looking out anxiously

"Guys, guys!!" Ansel called out to them repeatedly

"What is it?" Mamock asked fury and pain evident in her eyes

"Aiden.. A..Aiden is dead, he was.." Ansel wasn't able to complete his statement when he felt a tight grip on his neck and Rus was looking at him with red angry eyes

"Don't go about spitting nonsense" Rus said in a very low voice, Ansel looked at him for a while before he continued

"He was strangled to death by one of them" he said and he felt a hot slap on his cheek

"Shut the hell up" Mamock shouted at him, he ignored the sting and continued "by the time I got there it was too late, he was already dead" he said and Rus let go of him and he fell on the floor as he remembered how he saw the life leave the poor boy's body

The pain washed through their bodies, tantrums were thrown, questions were asked, they abused each other and did a lot of pain provoked things but they finally calmed down when they realized Aiden isn't coming back and he probably won't want them fighting

"It's time" Ansel spoke up after hours of painful silence.

"For what?" Amanda asked in a hoarse tone from all the crying while the others just stared at him blankly, their eyes lacked life in them.

"Make your wish" Ansel said and they all scoffed

"We have no wish now Ansel, whatever happens happens" Ruri said flatly

"You don't even want to wish for a separation of every other creature from the humans?" Ansel asked and they all sat up

"You can do that? Wouldn't that be interfering with fate?" Rus asked

"No, I'm not interfering cause no one knew what the outcome of this massacre will be" Ansel answered

They all sat in silence for a few minutes before they all nodded their head simultaneously. Ansel looked at them and when he was sure that they wished for that with their whole heart, he immediately focused on creating a barrier between the humans and every other creature by collecting and removing their energies. He managed to bring in all the other creatures both living and dead into a particular place and closed the barrier

And that was how the different realms were created with Amanda being the first human to own the life force
