Chapter 34

  I sat on the bedside and stroked the edge of the quilt. This set of bedding was personally purchased by me in the year we got married.

After three years of marriage, a year of house arrest and a year of wandering, it has been almost five years now, and the edges, as well as the pattern, have slightly turned white and washed-out.

“After you left, I never let anyone else come here,” Xavier said softly as he hugged my waist.

I averted my gaze slightly, not daring to look into his eyes. I admit that I was deeply moved when I saw all this in front of me.

“Okay, you should rest,” he said after seeing my embarrassment.

Xavier didn\'t force me anymore, but carefully tucked the quilt for me and went out.

I took a bath and lay on the bed where I had slept for three years. A strange feeling welled up in my heart, the feeling of wanting to get rid of all my worries and just be with him for once was really uncomfortable.
