Chapter 36: Kuu-aught

"He's the son of our mortal enemy. How could you think that he'll help you? Have you been completely manipulated by that man?" He snarled. He turned his back and let out a deep sigh. "I was just anticipating.. that maybe.."

"No!" He cut me off.

"Caius. You can't judge Amaris just because he's a witch. He has a big heart too, so I can't blame Nemiah if she thought of asking help from him." The queen somehow got my back. But Caius didn't like it. He became furious about it. "Not you too, mother. He's just making a facade so he can catch all of us once he gets a chance." He retorted. I guess he'll never trust Amaris no matter what good that person will do. I don't understand why he's so infuriated about him to death. He turned to me again with his hands on his waist. "You are not asking for help from that person. Better stay here and I'll go look for that scroll instead."

"You don't understand, Caius. It has to be me." I tried to persuade him but he didn't budge.
