CHAPTER 6

IVORY'S POV

I fight back the laughter threatening to come out my mouth. I covered my mouth with my hands as I was failing to fight it back on my own.

Two days prior, I was thinking desperately on how to silence Anna and here I was, two days after, listening to Jews about her death. It was oddly convenient for me so I didn't mind.

"It was suicide", Amelia continued, trying to fight back her own tears and failing.

Fuck this, I didn't ask.

"I never thought of her as someone who would take her own life"

Amelia was breaking down at this point and I was trying to contain my laughter. I had to do something to make it seem like I was sad.

AMELIA'S POV

I didn't hear any sound coming from Ivory, she wasn't moving either. I wondered if she didn't feel sad about it since when only just met Anna. I wiped the tears off my face so I could see clearly.

Ivory was shedding tears. She was crying but softly, she was frozen in a spot again. It broke my heart to see her tears. She was just getting to know Anna, they must've hit it off on the day they came over. I thought they didn't like each other since they didn't talk much but seeing Ivory shed tears for Anna gave me a warm feeling.

Ivory was basically a sweet human being. She was the definition of kindness. She barely knew Anna and she's shedding tears for her, I proceeded to hug her and pat her back.

"There, there, don't break down. We have to stay strong, for Bella"

I hear har sniffling and she hugs me back. This was the first time she would return my hug and it made me happy. I run my hand through her hair.

"I'm here, Ivory, I'm here. It'll be ok. I promise"

I tried to comfort her.

She pulled back from the hug seconds later

"Let's go check up on Bella.", she said

She was indeed a sweet soul, she was breaking down and yet she was thinking about someone else. I couldn't help but feel respect for her in that moment. Quite the number if people had gathered by Bella.

I'd told her that she shouldn't come to school today but she didn't listen to me. She said she wanted to learn and forget about it since Anna had already been buried.

"When is the burial?", Ivory asked, pulling me from my thoughts.

"Oh that. It was yesterday. She was buried immediately she was found"

"So no autopsy was conducted?"

"There was no need for one. She hung herself on the chandelier in my room"

"She hung herself?"

I couldn't help but feel like Ivory didn't believe she killed herself.

"Do you think she was killed? The security at my place is tighter than security at police stations so that option is impossible. And if you're wondering if it was an inside job, it couldn't have been. No one would have any reason to do it and besides, Bella and I were sleeping next to her so we would've known if someone entered the room"

"Oh ok"

She still wasn't convinced.

IVORY'S POV

That was some bullshit Amelia got out of her mouth. But I wasn't protesting or anything. I was just annoyed by the stupidity of the adults that were present at the murder scene.

I believe it was murder. I don't know who she offended or how no one realized she was killed but I just had this feeling that she was killed. Besides, how could they just bury her without conducting an autopsy. Even her parents didn't want to know the cause of their daughter's death. Something fishy was going on.

Either they killed her or they didn't really care for her. Even her supposed sister came to school for the pity she would get from people. I could see that bitch smirking from where I was talking to Amelia. She was vying for attention and it sickened me that she was using her sister's death to get sympathy from people. Rich people are messed up in the head.

There were no classes today, definitely because of the commotion that was happening. The class divided into groups and they all proceeded to talk about Anna's death.

"She didn't commit suicide, she was killed"

I looked behind me to find the origin of the words. Cole Jefferson was on his desk glaring at me. His lips were slightly parted and he only seemed to focus his attention on me.

"Why are you glaring at her?", James stood, blocking my vision of Cole.

Cole didn't reply him. He stood up and left the class. It wasn't a surprise that he didn't reply James, after all we were nothing but peasants in his eyes.

But that bastard crossed the line by suspecting me in public of Anna's death. He could've found a secluded place and asked me to meet with him. I decided that he also saw through my good girl act.

James turned to me,"Don't be offended. He just wants to blame you because of our financial differences"

I looked at James but I didn't smile. It would feel wrong to smile after someone openly accused me of murder.

"Oh yh, didn't Bella post a picture of you four together in Amelia's house the day she died?", some human being whose name I couldn't care to remember spoke up.

I could've glared daggers at him but someone hit him on the head, "Idiot, she was found hanging down a chandelier. You think poor girl could've hung her without being caught?"

"And Ivory left my house early, she didn't sleep over so watch your mouth, Thomas", Amelia spoke up.

"I'm just saying, there's no autopsy so we can't be sure what actually happened not can we?", Thomas said, smirking at me.

He was trying to rile me up, but I wasn't going to just stand and be accused of the murder of the girl I was planning to poison.

"I didn't kill her. Please, let's not make such cruel jokes. She was probably depressed and wanted to leave the world. Don't push me into depression, I'm not strong", I think this was the first time I was talking to anyone without my innocent act.

This time I wore a straight face to show the kids in class that I would never take such an accusation from any of them.

"Whatever", he said and walked away.
