DEVONNE’S POV THE next day I was all dressed up and ready to go to work in green blazers and a tight skirt that came to stop mid thigh. Inappropriate? Well…that’s why I own the place. I pulled on my knee high heeled boots. I straightened my hair and let it down, applying some red gloss and blotting it with a tissue. DEVONNE’S POVI was smiling while making cookies the next morning when Nathan walked into the kitchen, he was practically living in my house now, but thank God he slept out last night, because I don’t think I would be able to explain why I was moaning loudly in the living room, neither would I be able to get over the trauma if he had walked in on me and Arian. DEVONNE’S POV“Nuh uh, we’re taking my car”. I swear if looks could kill… yeah Arian would be dead, “but I like my car just fine” I protested and made to unlock my car but the keys were snatched from my hands. “Hmm, let’s just say, I’m not really comfortable with you driving any vehicle that I’m gonna be in” he said, holding the keys out of my reach. I was a child again, feeling his dirty hands on me, groping at my clothes while forcing my legs apart. The image shifted and I was driving a knife into his body over and over and over again I woke up gasping for breath, it’s really crazy how These nightmares started again a month ago, so I’ve been drowning myself in wine and men, it helps for the most part, but it is crazy. First thing I noticed after jerking awake was the killer headache I was sporting, second thing I noticed, was that there was a stranger in my bed. “Good Morning Devonne” I jerked awake and squinted at the person, it was Sansa, I had slept in…..in my office! I shut off the music and rubbed my eyes. “Morning Sansa, how’d you enjoy your new gift” I asked, struggling against a yawn.“I enjoyed it very much Devonne, thank you” she said while dropping a cup of steaming hot coffee and a bagel on a plate on my table. Why did this whole introduction thing have to take place at my house?! Why?! Josh was 2 years behind her in senior high. ‘Bob’ walked into the room, more like he strutted in, the wine seemed to keep reminding me of how this was my house and I ought to have a say in whatever happens in it. As soon as he walked in, his eyes went straight to me, his nostrils flared a bit and then he smiled, the wine kept panicking in my head and screaming that he was dangerous, I looked at my Mom and I knew that for her sake, I just had to try.
