~3 FURY

𝐉𝐚𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐞 applied force on the table she was cleaning. She wondered how the workload kept intensifying, even when they had more hands. Janelle was hell bent on not getting any complaint from the head chef Bella. Because she was also trouble.

The excruciating pain she felt when Dante the Capo's son hit her, was still vivid in her imagination. She expected far worst, confused and in pain, she was quite taken aback when he walked in, he looked extremely upset and asked her to get out. Trembling she ran out. She had been praying silently not to get involved in any scandal after that. Also the aim of avoiding the Capo's son.

“Janelle.”

Immediately she heard Bella's voice, she hid abruptly. If there was another person she had to avoid, it was Bella the head chef, who kept sending her into the lion's den.

“Bella is looking for you?” Came Rosa, one of the slaves Janelle had known for the longest time. They practically grew up together, though Janelle had lived in the cold slab longer than Rosa. Their cases were different. Rosa was sold as a sex slave to the capo.

“Shhh.” Janelle tried to stop her from making another sound. Rosa understood immediately, while she got pulled away by Janelle. “Seems like Bella is on my case because why the hell does she keep sending me to the lion's den, I was almost killed yesterday,” Janelle said, whilst trying so hard not to sound extremely dramatic.

They were both in a quiet and empty stall.

“Be careful Janelle,” Rosa said whilst she gave Janelle a reassuring tap. “We all have to survive, and always know to put yourself as the top priority,” Rosa said looking grim, meanwhile, Janelle who seemed a little confused by her statements and why she was giving her that sad speech now, watched her closely.

Rosa leaned closer to Janelle and whispered something to her ears. Her eyes grew so wide in return.

“That's dangerous. You might get caught.” Janelle responded quite worried about the safety of the only person she could call a friend.

“Either way it's death. Staying here or there.” Rosa replied.

Meanwhile, Janelle stared back at her wide-eyed.

Janelle was aware that Capo du Fiorelli emporium was a scary place to be, but whatever Rosa was up to was way worse. Running away wasn't an option. There was tight security, which wasn't gonna be easy to get past, or else you had help from a powerful insider, she doubted Rosa had one.

“Rosa, it's risky I can't do that,” Janelle said quite frightened.

“You need to stand up for yourself, I only told you because we are friends, and I wouldn't want you to keep suffering here when I have a fully proven plan,” Rosa said.

Meanwhile, Janelle stared at Rosa, her brain was a total wreck, as a lot of things kept running through her head. Even if they managed to escape, she knew no one from the other world, and neither did she have where to go. The thought about the risk involved was alarming. Rosa could get killed if caught.

“Janelle, I get you are scared and all. It's no problem, just don't tell anyone about it.” Rosa said, meanwhile Janelle stared back at her, whilst giving her a gentle nod. Not like there was anyone to tell.

Janelle couldn't help but wonder how she expected a nineteen-year-old not to panic. At this point she felt less of herself, Rosa was only two years older and was about to do this, and she was 19 and was extremely scared to think of such, she couldn't even defend herself.

Dante couldn't help but avoid making direct eye contact with Capo Fiorelli. They had a serious misunderstanding the previous night, and Capo Fiorelli didn't fail to express his disappointment in his son, and how Dante was weakling and good for nothing. He left to his chamber feeling so terrible and self-loathed.

If there was one thing Dante always wanted growing up as a child, it was his father to see his worth, but none of that happened. He was sure if he wasn't the only son of the Capo, he should have been damned by now. He believed even Ninetta had more worth than he did to his father.

“Miguel De Santo is crossing territories.” Capo Fiorelli said in his usual calm tone. He was late in his sixties, yet more energetic than some young men as he always bragged all the time. You could tell he was a fine young man while in the early peak of life. Because even in his old age, he was still good-looking. And Dante really did inherit his good look.

“But why are you accommodating his son? Lorenzo.” Dante inquired, still avoiding the Capo's gaze.

Meanwhile, the Capo clears his throat, stares into the varsity mirror, obviously paying much attention to his reflection, then turned to Dante with a stern look.

“Don't ruin this. I have everything set up. The least you could do is let things play out, don't interfere, and let me handle this.” Capo Fiorelli said with every ounce of authority. Meanwhile, Dante only nods his head while he took some steps back.

“Okay, father.” He mumbled, you could barely hear what he said.

In his twenty-seven years on earth, he had never done anything that pleased Capo Fiorelli, Dante felt he always had something bad to say about him. Most times he wondered if the Capo truly wanted him to continue his legacy, and didn't have any other plan. Because with the Capo you couldn't tell. He was a man of few words. Most times he felt like the Capo thought he was planning to get him dethroned.

He acted more than he spoke.

“Tell Juan to get the information around. Lorenzo De Santos would be gracing us tomorrow. And I want no mistakes.” Capo Fiorelli ordered, then slipped in his cigar into his mouth. Meanwhile, Dante only nodded, before he faced the door, with no destination in mind.

Ninetta stared at her perfect reflection in her varsity mirror, while she admired herself. She was obsessed with her beauty. She was a redhead, with brown eyes, complemented by hazel shades. Ninetta was a beauty to behold, and she knew that. She was also one of the Capo's favorites. Everyone knew that because it wasn't something that wasn't visible. She was twenty-four, and very ambitious.

“Ninetta.” She heard Dante call out to her. She pulled away from the varsity mirror, intending to give him her whole attention.

If there were two things Ninetta cared about apart from her beauty. Or would the word obsessed be ideal? It was Dante and the FIORELLI name.

She was obsessed with power, and that was why the minute it came out to open she wasn't a Fiorelli by blood. She felt like her whole world was snatched away from her. Ninetta is the only bastard that their father actually likes so much. She was strong, skilled, and more like Capo's right-hand woman. She knew everything going on in the empire, even underground. She had Capo's trust and also respect. And she had proved her loyalty to him in so many ways. When the truth was revealed she wasn't the Capo's real daughter, it caused havoc. As her mother was punished severely for conspiracy. She cared less about her mother, she hated her mother, for being careless to let the truth out, she had hidden it for a long time, so why be careless about it now? Even though she was just finding out about it.

Ninetta had always had taste for power, and her mother and no one else were gonna destroy her dreams.

She was a Fiorelli, and no one could tell her otherwise.

Also, the fact that she had Dante eating out of her palms was a great deal. He was the heir to the empire, and in other, for her to remain relevant she had to stay by his side. She loved Dante so much, and she knew it wasn't brotherly love anymore, but something else, she knew that. She had wet dreams about him, about how he kissed and consummate their love.

Though she always managed to hide those feelings so well, as she acted like the perfect sister. She got jealous when he talked about his escapades with other women. But always convinced herself, the majority of them were slaves and worthless women. Dante was never going to take them seriously. They were both so close.

“Father keeps pissing me off,” Dante said while he punched the wall, meanwhile, Ninetta runs down to him, she knew what was next. Breaking stuffs, and she wasn't ready to lose some important ornaments.

“Dante, put that down.” She ordered with a grim look.

Meanwhile, Dante squeezed his hand. You could tell he was burning in anger.

“He never takes me seriously,” Dante yelled.

“No, no. Come here, sit down.” She directed. “Father takes you seriously, trust me,” Ninetta said while the guided him to a seat.

“He insulted me in front of everyone the other night, even today was no different,” Dante said.

“Dante, look at me. Look at me.” Ninetta instructed while she directed his gaze to hers.

Janelle knew what was going to happen tonight, and she wasn't ready for it. The guards were going to sneak in again and do whatever they like to them like they were rags.

She planned on disappearing again tonight, all she had to do was walk out of that door, and not look back. It was also risky because being caught loitering at night could arose different suspicions. She had no plans of doing anything problematic. She was only tired of being molested and taken advantage of.

The first occurrence she had was a traumatic one she never wanted to think about.

Immediately after she placed the tray on the table, Janelle began walking as fast as her legs could carry her. Although trying not to make any sounds so as not to b caught by any of the guards.

While sneaking off like a thief, she stumbled into someone, which made her gasp in fear.

Not him again

The light was dim but she could pretty much tell who it was. He stood firm and tall, compared to her petite body.

Dante Fiorelli was tall, had green eyes, he was extremely muscular, with dark long hair. These features and many more made the girls in the cold slab want him.

As they made eye contact, the resounding slap he gave her the other day was the only thing she could think of. Janelle wondered why she had such ill luck, she was running away from a pressing issue, only to run into a bigger problem. Especially after the incident. She was scared for her life.

Dante on the other hand just gave her a cold look, and slowly walked away, without sparing her a glance or talking to her, with sent chills down her spine, as she turned back and watched him walk away.
