Chapter 2

ALLEN

"JULEKA!" I yelled on seeing how that truck knocked her down with force.

I felt my entire body shiver at the sight of Juleka's accident, sending me racing to her unconcious body on the road.

I fell on my knees, pulling her bloodied body into my arms and rushing back into the hospital.

Doctor Nicole admitted her at once, carrying out treatments on Juleka.

I was outside, pacing about the room, feeling my heart rising to my throat when Juleka came to mind.

For three years I've never seen her as someone worthy of care. I have always portrayed her as a good for nothing woman.

But for the first time ever, I felt something for her.

I felt closer to Juleka.

"Please be fine, Juleka," I hoped, still pacing about.

That's when Doctor Nicole stepped out to see me.

"How's my wife?" I asked, rushing to her point.

She gave me a nasty look before responding. "She's going to be fine, " She notified me.

I felt better on hearing that.

"But she lost the baby," She added.

A thud came in my chest, remembering why we where at the hospital in the first place.

"My baby is gone?"

"Isn't that what you wanted? The accident took the baby's life. Now that's going to be a problem for your wife, because she won't be able to have a baby after this," She said, openly blaming me for it.

"I warned you about this when you said she wanted the abortion, and now we can't do anything," She pointed out, reminding me of her words back then.

Guilt came taking over, making me regret my decision on the little one.

I requested to see Juleka, but Doctor Nicole refused me, saying she's resting.

I decided to wait for her to wake before I'd go in.

"I'll make things right, Juleka. I promise."

After waiting for what felt like a million years, I went into Juleka's room to see her without letting Doctor Nicole know.

But when I stepped in, I found the room empty.

A nurse came in to send me away, but I immediately demanded for Juleka's whereabouts, in which she couldn't respond to.

"Where's my wife?!" I yelled out, getting other nurses and Doctor Nicole rushing in.

They went around searching for Juleka, just to discover that she was missing.

"How is she missing? Find her or I'll make you regret!" I threatened all of them.

A search was conducted around the hospital, but no one found Juleka.

Just when I thought all hope was lost, a security guard reported seeing her leaving the hospital some minutes ago.

"What?! And you didn't stop her?! Imbeciles!"

Quickly, along with my guards, we rushed out to find Juleka, asking passersby if they had seen her.

Only two people pointed out where they had seen her heading.

She was seen making her way to the closed bridge which was under construction.

Terrified, I hurried over there and found Juleka standing at the brim of the bridge.

My heart flew to my throat as I screamed out her name, "JULEKA!" Racing towards her.

"Stop!" Juleka ordered when I got close.

I did as she wanted, realizing what she intended on doing.

"Juleka, please... don't jump. Just come down so we can talk," I pleaded, drawing nearer to her.

But when I moved closer, she drew back, planting more fear in my heart.

I stopped, begging Juleka to get down, but she chose to stay deaf to my call.

Fully aware of her reason, I went on my knees and begged Juleka for forgiveness, promising to give her the life she truly deserves.

"I promise to change. I'll stop hurting you. Juleka, you can see your father now. You can... You can also pursue your career. Anything you want, I'd do it. Just get down, please."

"You promise to change?" She asked, looking into my eyes.

I nodded, assuring her that I'd be a better person.

I watched Juleka look out to the open sea below the bridge, saying, " No, I rather die than spend another day with you."

In split seconds, Juleka jumped off the bridge, choosing death over me.

"JULEKA!" I screamed, almost jumping after her. But I was stopped by my guards who arrived after Juleka left me.

She's gone.

.

"A toast to our partnership," Sebastian raised, lifting his glass high.

I, along with Miranda, lifted our glasses to celebrate our five years partnership.

It's been five years since I lost Juleka and bagged a deal with Miranda's father, Sebastian, a business tycoon known around for his works.

It was an easy task all thanks to Miranda's feelings for me. Her crave to have a bachelor like myself in her life, got her father joining hands with me in no time.

And my company has been doing greatly.

"Join us for dinner, Allen. Miranda has decided to make something special tonight," Sebastian requested while Miranda blushed at me.

I had to turn down the offer, bringing up my work.

"I need to attend to something at the company," I said.

Sebastian accepted my excuse, looking at his daughter to hear from her.

Miranda had a sad face on, showing her wish to have me around.

"Next time, I promise," I assured her, planting a kiss on her hand.

She smiled, also giving me the go ahead to leave.

A kiss to the hand is enough to get Miranda on my side.

I immediately left their home, heading down to the company.

While driving, my mind went to Juleka.

Today marks five years since she left me for death. I had conducted a search for her then, but her body wasn't found.

The divers claimed the current must have swept her away, but I was desperate to find her.

They went on but gave up after returning with multiple zero reports.

I couldn't stay at the celebration for long with her memories flooding my head.

It only made me regret my past decisions.

"How I wish I stopped you from jumping off that bridge." I sighed, taking a turning.

Suddenly, I couldn't stop my car when I tried to pull the break.

I tried to control the wheels but my car ran out of control, bashing straight into a tree.

"Someone call the ambulance! " I heard in the background, feeling my head spinning as I passed out.

.

"The patient had an accident. He'll be fine. Just try and reach out to a friend or relation."

My eyes came dimming on hearing a voice talking to someone.

I opened my eyes to find myself in the hospital, bandaged from the head.

Before me stood a curvy lady with her back at me, talking to a nurse.

When I tried to sit up, I heard, " Doctor, he's awake."

That got me lifting my gaze at the two ladies in the room with me.

As soon as the doctor turned around to see me, my eyes grew large, staring at her in shock.

"Juleka?!"

The doctor turned out to be Juleka.

She's my doctor.
