Emma’s POV

I checked my watch, it was already 10am. Damnit! I am already late. I immediately excused myself. I have to go the station.

On getting to the station, I saw the mayor in front of the office. The reporters were hounding her. I smiled and sneaked into the office.

Mayor’s POV

The governor has been on my neck since. I don’t even what to do. I have escaped from the reporters before when Smith was still on the run.

Now that he was arrested, I planned to keep a low-profile. I made enquiry and I was told that the reporters were at the station yesterday night.

I presumed that they won’t be here today. Who would have known they were here waiting for me? I don’t know what to do.

“What do you have to say about the arrest? Are you coming to see your lover one last time? How are you sure you did not know of his strange lifestyle?”

The questions kept coming at me. It was really more political. I know my opponents will not p
