"First, we need to see how the baby is," Jaden says after swallowing all the bread that was stuffed in his mouth.

"Tomorrow, Jaden," I roll my eyes.

"No, not really," he huffs. "The doctor will definitely be available to see you. I can't let you transform and risk hurting the baby."

"Jaden, Fawn would never hurt our little one," I frown, feeling really upset now.

"I know she wouldn't, I'm not saying that, it's just that..." He starts to speak, but I interrupt him, quickly standing up from the chair.

"No, Jaden. I don't want to hear it, okay? I understand your concerns, but Fawn and I would never do anything that could hurt my child. Mark is as lethal to him as she is, and yet I'm not saying you could kill him." I huff, leaving everyone at the table, stomping away.

The deafening silence unsettles me a bit. I didn't mean to say Mark was a danger, but I want him to feel the same way Fawn and I felt when he said she could hurt the baby.
