I curled up on my bed, watching as the rain rolled down the window. I was numb, just staring. I had just witnessed my mates' death, the image of his headless body as it hits the floor and his dead eyes staring at me. A knock brought me out of my thoughts and sluggishly, I got up to open it.

"Good evening Lady Celeste, the King has sent me to escort you to his chamber" A guard said.

Why the hell would I need to be escorted to a room just a few feets away from mine? Nevertheless, I followed the guard in my pajamas as he led me to his room.

I stood outside Elijah's chamber and the guard bowed before leaving me standing there. I took in a deep breath before pushing the door open. Elijah was seated on his bed, shirtless might I add. A glass of wine in hand as he watched me come closer to him.
