My stomach churned. What did he think he was doing right now? I felt Mary’s repulsive gaze over me, everyone around me whispering inaudibly. I glued my eyes to Nate and saw the mocking smirk on his lips. There was a brief silence before he continued his speech, acknowledging his parents and patrons, most of this part I zoned out of. I still had to fake a receptive smile since I could feel more inquisitive and telling eyes on me. 

Applauds rolled and I regained my focus. Nate was already walking back to his seat beside me, looking as haughty as ever, and his sardonic facial expression was still there. 

“Don’t like to be in the spotlight? With all that stubborn and outspoken attitude you like to show off, that’s a huge disappointment” he smirked and relaxed in his seat, placing his award on the table in front of him. Before
