“You took your sweet time. You know I barely have time to even sit idle for a minute,” said Alfred Brown, not looking at Eden as she walked down the stairs.

“Oh, I’m sorry I thought that you being unavailable for almost the entirety of my life meant you can handle my absence for a few more minutes,” Eden smiled sarcastically.

“I am not here to play games. Take a seat this is important,” Alfred’s voice had no emotion, he simply did not care for being there longer than it needed to be.

“Lovely as ever, Dad.”

Alfred kept staring at his phone until Eden was seated across from him on the couch. He kept his phone in the pocket of his expensive Armani suit, now staring directly at Eden, who sat with her arms crossed, awaiting whatever absurd order he was about to give her.

“I am here to make sure that we are on the same page regarding your marriage with Carter. I want no drama, no indecency, and no petty complaints from you,” said Alfred.
