Chapter Six

◼Rose POV◼

What did he just say? I stare at the man right in front of me. I couldn’t remember what had happened. Before I woke up, I felt someone with me. After a while, I woke up in need of the bathroom. I was confused about where I was. As I didn’t want to say too much, I pretended to be weak.

What I never expected was to be touched by this man. He was the epitome of beauty; he entranced me. He was like six feet tall, just like me; he had dark brown hair, just like chocolate, his eyes were black, and his body was lean but muscular at the same time.

When I felt his touch and that weird sensation, my mind clicked horribly. I’ve found my mate. It surprised me. Never did I expect to see him, especially in that place. What also surprised me was that he saved me.

I was confused about what I was feeling. I didn’t believe in love; I hated it. I know I needed a mate, but I wasn’t planning on falling in love. What I needed was power; that’s what I want; power.

Feeling that I needed to go, I grabbed my stuff and headed out. I didn’t know what place I was, but I had a horrible hunch that I didn’t like. As I walk away, I could feel the wound reopening. I needed to stay strong. My monster was restless, and we needed to go. I was about to when I felt his grip on me. This man was persistent, and I didn’t know why. As I get angry, I throw him against the wall. He looked surprised. Well, he better be. He didn’t know who he was messing with.

I could see the place was from someone rich and royal. I frowned as I saw some vampires approach the chaos. I move right in front of him as I show him how strong and how he has to respect me. When I see him stand tall and whisper where I was in my ear, I was in shock. How in the world did I end in the Kingdom of Ciar?

I was taking my distance from the man right in front of me. I study him. There was something different about him. Something in him told me I wouldn’t like the answer once I asked him for his name. I had to be careful in giving out who I was. As I stare at him and step back, I see him approach me. His fangs were showing. Was he trying to intimidate me?

Stopping, I lower my head. I couldn’t wait any longer, so I ask him.

“Who are you?” I whispered.

“I’m… Your mate…” he whispered closely, “My name is King Nikolas.”

Gasping, I look at him. He had a serious look, but his eyes were looking at me softly. Why was he looking at me like that? I don't know why this man was doing something to me, but he made me feel weak like I needed him. Thinking about what to do, I tried to turn around and walk away, but I felt an arm around my waist.

“Where do you think you are going?” Nikolas asked as he pressed me against his body.

“Let go…” I hissed, “I need to go home.”

I could feel Nikolas breathe near my neck. Giving me goosebumps, I tried to push him, but it was in vain.

“I’m not letting you go… you’re bleeding,” Nikolas hissed near my ear.

As I look down, I see his arm full of blood. I had forgotten about my wound. It seems it has reopened, and now that I notice it, I can feel the pain, and my body feels weak.

Holding myself from his arm, I try to keep my eyes open. It was in vain; I felt everything spin around me. I was trying to breathe. Then, I hear Nikolas yell something. As my knees buckle, I feel him grab me and carry me back to the room. I tried to stay awake, but before I even tried, I fainted once again.

As I open my eyes, I groan in pain. The wound was painful. I never knew what had injured me. Looking around the room, I see it was night. The room was dark, and I felt I was alone. Sitting in bed, I tried to breathe deeply, just to flinch from the pain.

As I look around, I look for my clothes. I know my phone was in there. Getting down carefully, I walked until I reached the table with my stuff. I hope the men didn’t check my things.

Looking inside, I find my phone. I tried to turn it on but noticed I broke it. Cursing, I check the rest of my stuff. As I made sure no one else was with me in the room, I took out what I had inside my clothes. Before I tripped and fell and the injury happened, I had found the amulet. I hid it in my clothes. As I stare at the charm, I hear a noise outside the bedroom. Turning around, I limp into the bathroom. Hiding the amulet, I waited to see if someone came in, but no one opened the door.

Knowing what to do, I change quickly into my clothes. I needed to leave. As I change into my clothes, I feel the pain again in my body. I wince in pain. I was trying not to make too much noise, but the pain was too much. Tears fell silently. Holding myself from the wall, I continue changing until I finally am ready. I didn’t know what time it was, but I better take my leave.

As I check the room, I see a balcony that shows the forest. I still had my weapons on me, including my whip. It seems he didn’t see what I was carrying with me.

Thankful for that, I open the door and walk out. Checking my surroundings, I notice some guards on duty. Snapping my fingers, I used my power and diverted them from the path I would go. However, I know that with my injury, I would not make it far away.

So I planned to get out of his territory. As I look back once again, I jump off the balcony. Landing on the ground, I groan. Taking a deep breath, I fist my hands. I had to tighten the bandage around my waist to stop the wound from opening again and blood to ooze out.

As I run away into the forest, I was thankful no one noticed me. I know how big the Kingdom of Ciar was. So it would take me at least three hours to be out of the territory. Running as fast as possible, I heighten my senses. So far, no one was around. I moved swiftly, trying to go unnoticed.

I don’t know how long I had run, but I was out of his territory by now. As I reached the highway, I calm down and try to take a break. My wound was bleeding a lot, and I was feeling the pain and weakness in my body. I needed blood. As I see the morning sun rising from the horizon, I notice a couple of cars passing by. As I try to ask for a ride, I see a car with two men stop.

Smiling, I walk toward them seductively and ask them for a ride. The two men agree. So as I got into the car, I knew what to do. Taking my gun out, I shot both men and then drank their blood. Then, discarding their bodies on the road, I got into the driver’s seat and drove off.

I was a couple of hours away from home and needed to arrive fast before he noticed I was gone.
