Chapter 41

THE ROOM became quiet even though outside wasn’t like that. Xurden was losing his patience as he waited for his henchmen to come back with Yric’s small moans on the side because of being cold. He was there again being intoxicated by his scents. Smelling Yric now worried him more. He felt like if he didn’t stop sniffing, he would drown and become addicted until the point he could no longer resist.

To snap himself, he shook his head, which Yric saw with his eyes at him. Not talking to Yric made it worst that’s why he started the conversation as he made his way to the bed and sat on the other side, leaning his back to the headboard with his feet stretched at its length.

“Do you always smell like mint and chocolate?” he asked Yric. He looked at him blankly.

Yric shifted back his attention at him with a querying look in his eyes. The younger boy even smelled his own inside the jacket covering his frail body.

“What? I smell nothing,” Yric told him.

“I am the only one who can smell it.”
