“I said, sit down and let me finish this.” I chuckled softly as I pointed the spatula at the middle counter and glared at Alonso, all the while masking the happiness about to burst out of my chest.

I volunteered to cook breakfast for him, but he had been assisting me, so we couldn’t avoid brushing each other’s skin. This was like before, and it made me miss the old us.

He used to hold me close to him without any restriction, but he had been distancing himself from me ever since I had that outburst and confessed what I felt for him.

But this morning was already turning out better than I had expected.

First, I didn’t expect him to be here, and more so, to spend time alone with him. Plus, he had been smiling, which he rarely does, the last few times we saw each other, so that one was a big bonus as well.
