CHAPTER 5: DANGER!

ADRIAN

I watched patiently as Austin faced the two huge men like a ferocious boar that was ready to kill and destroy everything.

With the way he was hitting them, I felt my body rise as I imagined him beating my friends and me that way. Well... That was the main reason we never faced them squarely because we knew we were no match for him and his friends.

"So, you freed him to beat us? Do you think two of you are enough to fight us?" One of the middle-aged men asked and I frowned.

"Two of us? Who told you it's the two of us? Austin alone is enough to teach you guys a big lesson." I boasted with an evil smile on my face as I watched the men glance at each other.

I thought I had won when they were unable to talk for some seconds but I realized I was wrong the moment they nodded their heads and laughed. "I will go and call them in." One of them said and turned his back to leave.

Call them? Call who? "You think I would give you the chance to call anyone?" I asked as I readied myself to fight them and stop them from leaving.

Having them call more men would put Austin and me at a disadvantage which I did not want. "Two of you are no match for me." I boasted as I ran toward them and stood in front of them.

"Are you that dumb or do you think you can fight us and win in our domain?" One of the middle-aged men asked and I frowned.

"What gives you the gut to still be talking like this when I've got this situation under control? Austin is there, beating your two powerful men and the other two; they are outside there, probably enjoying their little free moment." I mocked without restraint. Seeing their face fall and crumble was my main goal and I couldn't wait to see that.

I turned my head to see Austin fighting on equal ground with one of the huge men while the other was already groaning on the ground. Suddenly, I felt proud from the bottom of my mind. "What's this feeling for?" I asked myself.

"You are mistaken. No matter how wise you think you are, you are still a naive kid in front of us. Do you think we would come here unprepared when we knew how feisty and evil you two might be? We knew from the beginning that you wouldn't be any different from your wicked fathers and we were right but you are very dumb too, just like your fathers." One of the middle-aged men said and my blood boiled.

I clenched my fist and gritted my teeth. I was okay with them insulting, cursing, and doing whatever they wanted to do with me but my father? How dare they insult Austin's father and my father?

Not like I was feeling pained that Austin's father was being cursed at... I was only... Only... Heck! The man was dead already and it was wrong for them to curse him!... Yeah, that was the only reason.

"Don't you think you're going too far? Why do you have to..." I was still expressing my anger toward them when they brought out a gun and pointed it at me~

Damn!

I turned around immediately to run away but...

"If you take a step forward there, I will blow your head!" One of the men yelled and I froze!

I turned my head very slowly and faced them again "Are you going to shoot me?" I asked with fear slowly creeping into my soul. There was no way I could survive a gun attack!

"Is that even a question? Do you think we are here to joke? You know, Two of us thought of one of you could be useful to us and that was why we decided to spare one of you but it seems we were wrong all along..." I stopped the man from finishing his word by interrupting him.

"So, You are going to kill both of us?" I asked them, hoping they would change their mind while my eyes also drove to where Austin was still fighting with the other huge man.

He seemed to have not noticed what was going on yet and I wished I could let him know but I was scared of getting shot. "How do I get out of this situation? Was I supposed to have killed this guy then and escaped while they try to use me? Maybe it was a bad decision to save Austin instead of escaping after killing him...

I was troubled and worried. My mind was a complete mess as I tried to figure out what to do. "I can't die here," I mumbled to myself.

The two men seemed to be discussing something with themselves as they no longer faced me but instead were looking at each other. Seeing this as once in a lifetime opportunity, I decided to escape when their attention wasn't on me.

I turned my back slowly and cautiously, trying my best not to gain their attention. With my hands still held up, I started tiptoeing toward the door and they still were unable to notice me. "Seems I'm going to leave here alive. Goodbye Austin. See you in the afterlife when I'm old enough." I said inwardly as I gently opened the door and without hesitation, I ran away from the room!

"Wheew! That was close! I nearly died!" I cried the moment I came out of the room and closed the door on them. I searched around me and fortunately, there was no one around, not even the two huge men... I was overjoyed.

I quickly lowered my head and sneaked my way up to the other side of the building we were kept in. Taking in the structure of the building, I realized it was a single house with one room, a seemingly abandoned building that is only used for evil purposes.

I found my way to the back of their building as I felt it might be too dangerous to pass the front because I knew nothing about where the burly men were manning.

"Finally..." I mumbled when I saw the bush at the back of the building. Upon entering such a bush, I was confident in my escape route and I knew there was no way I would be caught even if they decided to follow me.

I was about to enter the bush when I felt a pull on my hair and I was dragged to the ground. "Argh!" I groaned as I held my head, feeling pangs of pain in my head due to the abrupt pull of my hair.

"Who's that Motherf**ker!" I cussed as I turned my head around to see who it was that grabbed my head that way only to see a very tall, huge, and scarred man standing behind me with his hand wrapped around his belly.

"A Motherf**ker? Are you calling me a Motherf**ker?" The giant man asked and I trembled.

My teeth hit each other as fear took over my rationality. "Mo... Mother... I didn't call you that. I... I was only saying ... I ... I missed my... Mother." I stuttered while saying whatever came to my mind.

Heck! I felt like my soul was gradually leaving my body and I was scared!

The man nodded his head before grabbing the collar of my shirt which he successfully pulled me up with. "You need to come with me." He said gently as he turned his back to leave but not without pulling me like a dog after him.

I tried fighting off his hand from my collar, I tried tearing off my shirt to escape from him, I shouted, yelled, cursed, begged, and cried but he turned a blind eye to me as If I was nothing but a crazy bee that deserved not even the tiniest attention.

Like a dog, I was dragged back to the room I thought I had escaped from, and sitting patiently while waiting for me was the two middle-aged men and Austin who had beaten up the huge men but he was standing, looking very exhausted.

The man holding the gun pointed it at him "Move closer to us." He ordered and Austin nodded.

He was acting very calm as if everything was under control and somehow, it irked me that he was always the only cool one in difficult situations. He moved closer to us and stood beside the giant man, looking like an averagely tall guy beside the abnormally tall bad man.

"What would you want to do with us?" He asked calmly and I frowned.

"Such a cool boy." One of the men praised before shaking his head as if he was pitying Austin. "It would have been great if he could become one of our men but he's too dangerous to be kept alive." The man added and sighed. "To answer your question, We are killing you. We will put an end to your and Adrian's life today." The man told him.

I expected Austin to be shocked. He should be scared just like I was at the moment but instead, he only shrugged and smiled. "Really? Then do whatever you want."

I thought I was the only one who was shocked by his words but I noticed the men were just as shocked as I was and it irked them too. The arrogance in his voice seemed to have rubbed them the wrong way as their eyes darkened and they cocked the gun.

"You want to die, huh?" The man holding the gun asked and smirked. "Let's fulfill your wish then." He added and without warning, he shot the gun, aiming at Austin's head.

In that split second, My body rose and my hands trembled. I shivered involuntarily as I thought Austin was already dead. He might have been my enemy but the last thing I wanted for him was to die... No... I didn't want him to die that way.

"Austin!" I screeched with anger and bitterness in my voice while I used my two hands to cover my ears as I waited for the sound of the gunshot but I heard nothing even as the seconds ticked by.

What's going on? Was I the one who was shot instead? Am I in heaven already? Ah! Did they kill me instead of him?!

I was shivering as I removed my hands from my ears and looked around me to confirm if I was dead or not but the first person I saw was Austin who was staring at me as if I was the biggest fool ever.

"The one aimed at wasn't scared but the onlookers already peed his pants? Hahaha! This is hilarious." The middle-aged man standing beside the man with the gun laughed out loud as he mocked me shamelessly.

It was only then did I realized that the gun wasn't fired and I was only scared for nothing!

I hissed loudly and rolled my eyes. "This is embarrassing~ tsk!"

During the silence, I heard a loud groan beside me, and by the time I turned my head, I saw the giant man on his knees while Austin stood behind him with his hands wrapped around the giant's neck, dangerously. "If you try shooting that gun, believe me, I will make sure it only passes through this man's forehead!" He threatened them as he cautiously moved backward with his hands still wrapped around the giant's neck.

The two middle-aged men were shocked... It was obvious they didn't expect such an outcome either and they were scared. For the first time since we've been brought here, I saw their face crumble!

It seemed the man was a very important asset to them and they couldn't afford to let him get hurt... How Austin beat the giant man was a mystery to me but that wasn't the biggest of my problem right then.

Austin pushed the giant man toward the two men, causing a huge commotion as the middle-aged men struggled to avoid the giant from falling on them while Austin grabbed my hair and dragged me out of the room!

We ran into the bush and continued running as we found our way out of the bush. "Austin just... saved me?" This was too much to swallow.
