Chapter 87. The garden ghost

Peter walked out of the house but did not go to the car. He let Martha wait for him while he took a stroll in the garden. The air was scented with roses, a clear breeze ruffled his hair. He sat on the bench trying to clear his thoughts. The garden was beautiful, the moon casting an evening glow on the tulips and orchids.

Breathing in the fresh scent of the summer breeze his mind drifted away. He was enjoying the peace and quiet when a shadow loomed over his face. Opening his eyes slowly he saw her. White and pale  under the moon glow. She was the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her long blonde hair fluttered in the breeze. 

Peter felt his heart pounding as she reached out her hand to him not getting any closer.

All the colour had drained from his face and his heart thudded in his chest. His mouth went dry and his eyes bulged in their sockets.
