We stood in the ward gazing at her, tears streaming down my face; her mother and friend were unable to hold back theirs. Mr. Richard sported a slight smile, indicating the relief that she had returned to us. She had narrowly escaped death. She scanned our faces. She didn't react, exhausted and pale. "We conducted a series of tests; she must abstain from alcohol from now on to avoid any further complications. However, I'll prescribe some medication to aid in her recovery. Let me just say this. Fortunately, the wounds weren't too severe. Nonetheless, she's fortunate to have survived such a situation as many do not; this means life is granting her a second chance," the doctor stated. I could completely relate to his mention of a second chance. What would have happened if Ms Jadesola hadn't arrived there at the time of the incident?
