Thank goodness she wasn't that far away from Verin so she was still fast enough to save him.

It happened so fast. She couldn't believe she would be that fast.

Nayla subconsciously placed herself in front of Verin as a shield facing him and the arrow that was flying towards him with an ineluctable force, struck her hard and pierced deep into her back, just below her waist.

Though, the fire quenched before hitting her, it's sharpness still pierced into her skin.

She coughed out blood and as she stared at Verin. Her hands that were holding him slowly loosened

She was about to be fall off to the ground but he caught her. She closed her eyes.

"Nayla" his hands were shaking as he held her. His knees also started to give up their strength and he fell to the ground.

"Open your eyes" He shook her gently but she only smiled.

"This is my 'thank you' for saving me the last time" s
